Arrival time
How exciting! You're here and we couldn't be more pleased.
When you arrive in Australia, you can meet with our Student Support Officer to discuss your questionnaire results and create a personalised Support Plan to help you settle in and feel confident about study in Australia.
As a member of the TITAN family, you’ll also have your own Personal Contact Team. They’re your go-to people for advice, support and guidance whenever you need it throughout your studies.
Enrolment, Orientation and Transition
From the moment you accept your offer, we will help you prepare for student life and build the skills you need to succeed in your studies.
Enrolment takes place on campus, with some steps completed online, including applying for your Unique Student Identifier (USI). Our team will guide you through the process.
Be sure to bring your essential documents to enrolment. If you’re an international student, these include your original passport, visa details and health insurance documents.
Your Orientation: Get Ready for Student Life
Starting your studies is a big step, and we’re here to help you feel confident, connected and ready for what’s ahead. Our Orientation Program is compulsory for all new students and takes place before classes begin. It’s your chance to meet our team and other students, explore campus and get familiar with the spaces and resources you’ll use throughout your studies, from the library and HIVE to our collaboration rooms and common areas.
We’ll walk you through the support services, facilities and healthcare options available to you, explain your rights and responsibilities as a student and show you where to go for help with complaints, appeals or other concerns. You’ll also learn about studying successfully, staying safe, accessing legal advice and understanding your responsibilities while living and studying in Australia. For our international students, we’ll introduce you to Australian culture, everyday life and the practical things that will help you settle in.
Make the most of your time on campus before classes begin. Orientation is your opportunity to:
Meet your people
Get to know our academic and support teams and connect with students who are starting the same journey
Get set up
Complete enrolment, organise your Student ID/access card and learn how to access the services and resources you’ll need
Plan your studies
Meet with your Course Coordinator to discuss your study plan, any transfer credits, your units and timetable
Explore your campus
Find your classrooms, library, study spaces and collaboration rooms, and get connected to Wi-Fi and online learning resources
Find your feet in Adelaide
Learn how to navigate public transport, get around the city and travel between campus and your accommodation
Feel at home
Ask questions, share experiences and connect with other students so you can start building your community from day one
We encourage you to arrive in time to take part in the full Orientation Program so you can start your studies feeling prepared and connected. If you arrive after orientation, we’ll provide access to the key information and resources, including our online orientation materials.
You’ll also have a separate Course Advice Session to help ensure you’re enrolled in the right course and units for your study plan and academic progress.
Your journey (blast off) starts here. We’ll help you make the most of it.
Your USI: One less thing to worry about
Your Unique Student Identifier (USI) is your personal student number for recognised study in Australia. It’s free, takes just a few minutes to set up and stays with you for life, so you only need to do it once! You’ll need to share it with us so we can keep your study records up to date.
If you’re an international student arriving from overseas, you can enrol before you have a USI. Create yours after you arrive in Australia, then share it with us.
You can create your USI online, or, if you prefer, we can help you get one with your permission. Easy! Visit the official USI website to get started.
Attendance and participation
Show up, get involved and make the most of your classes. Take part in learning activities and check your unit information so you know what’s expected. If you can’t attend or need a hand, reach out to your teaching team or Student Services early. We’re here to help.
Regular attendance and participation help you stay on track academically. Ongoing or unexplained absences may affect your academic progress, assessment outcomes and ability to successfully complete your units, and may lead to follow-up or intervention under our student support and academic progress processes. As a happy family we don’t want that!
If you’re an international student, you’ll also need to maintain satisfactory course progress and complete your studies within the timeframe set out in your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Unsatisfactory course progress may trigger additional support and, where applicable, formal action under our policies and relevant student visa requirements.
Early Engagement: Get Ready Before You Arrive
Your journey with us starts before you arrive on campus. Through our Early Engagement Program, you can connect with our academic and student support teams through online information sessions and live chats, get to know your future classmates through social media groups and build your academic and English language skills before classes begin.
Within a week of accepting your offer, we’ll send you our Getting Started Questionnaire. It helps us understand your goals and identify any academic or personal support you may need, so we can help you feel prepared, supported and ready to make the most of your studies from day one.
Your next step: Keep an eye on your inbox for the questionnaire, complete it and return it to us. Then explore our online resources and join our student community to start connecting before you arrive.
What You’ll Need to Succeed and How We Can Support You
Every course has inherent requirements. These are the essential skills, abilities and activities you’ll need to demonstrate to successfully complete your studies. These may include critical thinking, written and verbal communication, teamwork, cross-cultural awareness and independent learning. Take some time to review the requirements for your course and units so you know what to expect and can plan for success.
We’re committed to creating an inclusive learning environment where every student has the opportunity to thrive. Reasonable adjustments may be available for students with disability or chronic health conditions to support their participation in learning, teaching and assessment while maintaining the essential requirements of the course. If you think you may need support or adjustments, reach out to our Student Support Team early. We’ll work with you to understand your needs and explore the options available.
